We get our bottled water from Maine?
Hey, let's find a nice local stream and some empty bottles and make a few bucks.
HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) -- State Rep. Beth Bye says she wants Connecticut to stop buying bottled water for the state Capitol and legislative office building.
Instead, she says lawmakers and the people who work for them should drink tap water.
She says it would save more than $11,000 a year and help the environment. She says Connecticut is ranked in the top five in the nation for quality of its drinking water and should stop importing water from Maine.
She says replacing bottled water coolers with coolers that use tap water won't be too expensive.
Bye says she hopes that if lawmakers set an example, state agencies will stop spending more than $500,000 a year on bottled water coolers and bottles.
