FLOWER POWER SOUR

"C'mon people now, smile on your brother, ev'rybody get together, try and love one another right now."--"Get Together," The Youngbloods, 1967.

So representative of the "flower power" lyrics of the 60's. Baby boomers were going to make sure the world lived in peace, harmony and love.

WOW, DID WE FAIL!

I would like to write more about it, but that would be a futile effort because Miami Herald columnist Leonard Pitts, Jr. already did, and far more eloquently and effectively than I could ever hope to.

For all of the worthless year-end stories you may read or see, this one is worth your time.

I agree! And I loved that Jesee Colin Young/Youngbloods song....first song, first side of the LP. Some people would ask me this...."what's an LP?" Actually, as you know, it stood for "long player."
