REAR VIEW MIRROR

The end of 2007 leaves me feeling strangely indifferent.
It wasn’t a bad year, it wasn’t a great year. It was…a year.

First and foremost: My family and friends are healthy, and so am I. I hope you are too.
Funny how that moves right to the top of the list as the years go by.

And with the passing of another year, I can’t help but think of two observations made by my mother.
She is not one of those mothers who is full of advice, whether it be good, bad, or ignored.
But she will say she can’t believe how quickly time has passed, and she wishes she and my father “did more.”

At 55, I can’t believe how quickly time has passed either.
And in 2008, I can do better. I can do more. Otherwise, what’s the point?

Time to stop looking in the rear view mirror.
Let’s click on the brights and hit the gas for 2008.

Happy New Year.

I hope your holiday was great, I KNOW 2008 will be great for you and yours, your Mom is very wise (but you knew that!), and I too look forward to a fantastic year. See you tonight, on the tube, I think. It's Wednesday, back to reality morning....Peter.
